French industrial group Acaplast, a leading specialist in rubber compound, and rubber and plastic injection parts, announced the acquisition of Brisard’s manufacturing business, formerly owned by the Askol Group. Mayenne-based Brisard has annual sales figures of 5 million euros and 47 salaried employees, who will continue under their current terms of employment. The transaction was approved in the Commercial Court of Lyon on July 16th, 2019, taking immediate effect. The new entity will be named Acaplast Mayenne.

The purchase of automotive parts producer Brisard (Mayenne, department 53) fits into the external growth strategy of the family-owned Acaplast Group by investing in French companies, expanding its reach to the dynamic Northwest of France and offering a “French touch” to customers in the Hexagon and beyond. Acaplast, a full-service rubber and plastics producer that provides custom-made design, formulation and manufacturing solutions for the automotive industry, employs 350 people in 9 production sites in France, Tunisia and Morocco. The acquisition provides technological synergies within the Acaplast Group and increases its sub-assembly manufacturing capacity.

Jeremie Choukroun, Acaplast Group CEO, stated, “We are excited by the opportunity to acquire Brisard and its experienced and dedicated team, and view this as a ‘win-win situation’. This acquisition bolsters our sub-assembly business through complementary activities, but also offers enhanced opportunities for Brisard’s clients to access other geographies. In addition, customers will benefit from Acaplast Group’s 60+ years of industry experience and its knowledgeable product and support teams already in place.”
